HGF’s 9th Annual IP in Retail Conference 2023

August 2023

HGF’s 9th Annual IP in Retail Conference is back and will take place on 27th September in Manchester and 13th November in London.

With the global pandemic over, retail is encountering new challenges. We have seen the rise of technology and artificial intelligence, including Generative AI such as ChatGPT. Consumers are increasingly concerned over the impact their retail spending is having on the environment, but can some retailers and brand owners be accused of ‘greenwashing’? Quiet luxury is also a new trend; how does this impact retailers and the protection of IP? The retail space has also been dominated by a series of cases concerning lookalikes, both in the trade mark and design fields. Is this an area of increasing opportunity or concern for retailers and brand owners? Finally, we come to influencers and influencing.

At IP in Retail 2023, we consider the IP dimension of current trends and issues in the sector.

Dates and locations:

  • Wednesday 27th September – Manchester, HGF office
  • Monday 13th November – London, etc venue’s St Paul’s (Due to the rail strike currently planned for Wednesday 4th October, we have unfortunately had to make the decision to move the date of the London HGF IP in Retail Conference to Monday 13th November. The venue will be the same – etc.venues St Paul’s.)
