HGF’s advanced case management system, which has been continually developed by the firm over 20 years, handles all aspects of deadline monitoring and IP portfolio record keeping for our clients. The software allows clients to instantly access pertinent case information and related correspondence through a secure VPN connection.

With approximately a quarter of a million deadlines under surveillance at any time, HGF’s systems are designed to manage these safely and efficiently with secondary independent checks in place to ensure you can rely on the service.

Having complete control over software allows HGF to deftly implement client-specific deadline monitoring requirements or procedures, whilst rapidly adapting to changing laws.  The software is continually updated and uses client and attorney feedback combined with  industry intelligence  to ensure that it remains up to date and relevant.


HGF’s pioneering, online client information portal, OCIS, provides clients with a clear insight into their IP portfolios. The secure, in-house developed and managed tool has been created exclusively to meet the needs of clients, enabling them to create reports and oversee budgets with a user-friendly, efficient interface.

Developed in tandem with HGF attorneys and clients, the sophisticated portal has been carefully designed  and evolved with our client-led ethos in mind, allowing you to have access to their portfolios at all times. Features include:

  • Interactive dashboard on login – showing real-time snapshots of customisable information on expenditure, territories, countries and other options.
  • Cost to date information – spend can be measured against budget.
  • Interactive map – providing an overview of protection and click-through to details of country coverage.
  • Data at your fingertips – live matters reports and schedules that can be easily created using filters, such as goods, classes and countries; and any upcoming annuities/renewals
  • Financial data – including past invoices, work in progress, cumulative and itemised costs.
