HGF Salzburg launched following the merge of HGF and Patronus IP in March 2019.
Due to the growing relevance of technology in the area the need for IP specialists is rising. The office is located directly next to the beautiful Salzach River. The team possess expertise in the sectors physics and electrical engineering, machine construction, materials science and metallurgy, chemistry and biology.

Bernhard Ganahl Partner
Bernhard's main focus lies in the drafting and handling of patents in the areas of electric engineering, software inventions as well as devices for biotechnology and optics. Furthermore he possesses great experience in opposition cases and IP litigation cases as well as trademark protection.

Jan Robert Naefe Partner
Jan’s practice involves the fields of materials science and basic industry (metallurgy, metal processing, ceramics, refractory, glass, building materials, plastics processing, industrial furnace design), also the technical sector in general, plus inorganic chemistry. He also has extensive dealings in opposition, nullity and litigation. Jan also provides comprehensive skills in the field of trademark and especially design law.

Christian Himmler Patent Director
Christian has considerable experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of mechanical engineering, medical engineering and renewable energies. Practice areas include fuel cells, medical devices, utility engineering, automotive and aerospace technologies. Furthermore he deals with opposition and appeal procedures.

Dr Jens Kienitz Patent Attorney
Jens completed a PhD in molecular physics at the University of Hamburg. He focused on the orientation of state selected molecules in mixed strong DC and laser fields.

Aušra Morkūnaitė Trainee Patent Attorney
Aušra completed a LL.M. in IP law and a master’s degree in chemistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. She wrote her thesis at the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research in Stuttgart. She focused on the stability of perovskite-based thin-layer solar cells. Aušra joined the Munich office in March 2019.

Rudolf Erhardt Sachs Senior European Patent Attorney
Rudolf started in 1996 working in the IP business. His experience covers a wide field of technologies, spanning from aerospace, automotive and semiconductor technology to musical instruments. He is specialised in patent search, drafting and prosecution, as well as opposition procedures.
