Cassie joined HGF’s Manchester office in October 2017 as part of the Electronics team, and qualified to become a Chartered Patent Attorney (UK) in 2021. She is currently working towards her European qualification.
Cassie has experience drafting and prosecuting applications across a variety of electronics and computing technologies including computer algorithms, AI, medical technology, security, consumer electronics and autonomous vehicles. She has particular experience in the issues surrounding drafting and prosecuting computer-implemented inventions, and works directly with a wide variety of clients including SMEs and Universities. Cassie has successful experience with EPO Oppositions.
Prior to joining the profession, during her degree and subsequent research Cassie worked on the interface of biology and computing. Her work included stochastic modelling of population dynamics, and engineering solutions to the assessment of dog welfare, exploring the potential to use the entropy of accelerometer signals as a welfare parameter.
