Experience

Richard has in-depth experience of all aspects of trade mark work, including strategy development, trade mark clearance and registration, disputes, enforcement and due diligence.

Richard looks after the portfolio's of client's including FTSE 100 companies, leading food and beverage brands, and exciting start-up and breakthrough SMEs.

Richard has been recognised by clients as providing first class client service, delivering commercially focused, clear and pragmatic advice. He has vast experience of developing effective strategies for protecting new and existing brands around the globe. Richard represents HGF’s clients in respect of high value and complex trade mark disputes including cases involving multiple opposition, invalidity and cancellation proceedings. His ability to secure positive decisions and favourable settlements of such matters has been highly appreciated.

Additionally, Richard has played a key part in developing HGF’s leading service delivery including the development of OCIS, HGF's proprietary client portfolio information portal.

Richard is a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorney’s and regularly travels to IP conferences including Marques and INTA.
