Experience

Jennifer is passionate about obtaining commercially relevant protection for her clients' innovations.

Prior to joining the patent profession, Jennifer held technology transfer positions within public sector research organisations. In these roles, Jennifer worked to identify and protect new products developed by researchers and healthcare professionals.

Jennifer has over 10 years' experience of working with individual inventors, small to medium size enterprises, as well as multi national companies and overseas attorneys.

A Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, Jennifer has an academic background in materials science and engineering. As a patent attorney, Jennifer has worked on inventions relating to new alloy compositions, materials processing and testing equipment and cast components for a range of applications. Jennifer has worked with clients in the automotive, aerospace, construction, heavy machinery and medical device industries.

Jennifer works with clients to understand their commercial objectives and uses her knowledge and experience to tailor her work accordingly. Her experience includes portfolio and budget management, advising on filing strategies, drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications around the world and advising on freedom to operate.

Jennifer is committed to supporting the wellbeing of colleagues within the Intellectual Property profession. She is a qualified Mental Health First Aider and a founding member of the IP Inclusive regional network for the Midlands area.

Jennifer is a member of the Coventry and Warwickshire Materials Society, a community that is affiliated with the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) and organises talks and events which contribute to continuing professional development for IOM3 members.
