HGF is proud to be attending the 14th Microbiome R&D and Business Collaboration Forum: Europe 8th Skin Microbiome and Cosmeceuticals Congress: Europe.

It will be held on Monday 11-12^th May in Rotterdam, Netherlands. There will be substantial insights for the microbiome community to transform scientific discoveries into viable products.

HGF Partner and Patent Attorney Craig Thomson will be speaking on the topic “Building the Right IP Strategy for Health and Wellness products Developers”

Developers of over-the-counter (OTC) products often fall into the trap of creating intellectual property (IP) strategies that are modelled on those that have been long established for clinically approved pharmaceuticals resulting in costly, inefficient, and misaligned IP. After exploring what developers in the OTC market are seeking to obtain from IP, we will discuss how to craft an IP approach tailored to non-clinically approved products; an approach that uses all the IP tools in an intelligent manner to build the most efficient solution. Finally, we will consider what can be done with respect to an IP portfolio when the innovator pivots from clinically approved to OTC product development.
