Munich is the centre of industrial property rights in Europe, the seat of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office as well as the European Patent Office with its Boards of Appeal and a large part of its Examining and Oppositions Divisions are located in Munich. Bernhard Ganahl Partner
Bernhard's main focus lies in the drafting and handling of patents in the areas of electric engineering, software inventions as well as devices for biotechnology and optics. Furthermore he possesses great experience in opposition cases and IP litigation cases as well as trademark protection.
Jan Robert Naefe Partner
Jan’s practice involves the fields of materials science and basic industry (metallurgy, metal processing, ceramics, refractory, glass, building materials, plastics processing, industrial furnace design), also the technical sector in general, plus inorganic chemistry. He also has extensive dealings in opposition, nullity and litigation. Jan also provides comprehensive skills in the field of trademark and especially design law.
Dr Markus Zoller Partner
Markus handles prosecution and litigation cases in various areas of the life science field including biotechnology, chemistry, pharmacy or genetic engineering. In particular, he has experience in various fields like immunobiology, medical devices, protein chemistry and laboratory devices. Further, Markus assists clients in trademark and design matters.
Christian Himmler European Patent Attorney
Christian has considerable experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the fields of mechanical engineering, medical engineering and renewable energies. Practice areas include fuel cells, medical devices, utility engineering, automotive and aerospace technologies. Furthermore he deals with opposition and appeal procedures.
Dr Susanna Krapp Trainee Patent Attorney
Susanna joined HGF’s chemistry group in Munich in March 2020. She completed her master`s degree in Molecular Science at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen. She wrote her dissertation about stress granule components and their interaction with plant viruses.
Aušra Morkūnaitė Trainee Patent Attorney
Aušra completed a LL.M. in IP law and a master’s degree in chemistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. She wrote her thesis at the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research in Stuttgart. She focused on the stability of perovskite-based thin-layer solar cells. Aušra joined the Munich office in March 2019.
Olivia Petter Attorney at Law
Admitted in 2007, Olivia is a certified lawyer for IP law and advises on all aspects of trademark, design, and domain law as well as in the area of competition law. She is experienced in developing trademark strategies, conducting availability searches, application, prosecution and litigation of trademarks and designs as well as drafting IP related contracts.
Rudolf Erhardt Sachs Senior European Patent Attorney
Rudolf started in 1996 working in the IP business. His experience covers a wide field of technologies, spanning from aerospace, automotive and semiconductor technology to musical instruments. He is specialised in patent search, drafting and prosecution, as well as opposition procedures.
