Experience

Adjoa enjoys getting to know the nature of her client’s businesses, their objectives and priorities, to get the best outcomes for any brand-related challenges they may face.

She provides advice to a wide range of customers, including FMCG businesses (including fashion, accessories and food), retailers, financial service providers, engineering and tech firms and pharmaceutical companies. In addition to her trade mark experience in the United Kingdom and European Union, through working in partnership with colleagues in the various HGF offices and associates in foreign firms, Adjoa has built up her expertise in brand selection, filing strategies, portfolio management and transactions concerning these rights.

Adjoa has experience in UK, EU and foreign contentious actions. Where the parties are amenable to doing so, she advises on and prepares national and global settlement agreements, striving for an efficient and effective resolution to disputes. Vital post-registration activities that go hand-in-hand with portfolio management, for instance, customs applications to monitor counterfeit products and liaising with in-house brand protection officers to ensure that clients have the right tools for countering unauthorised use, are also an important part of her role.
