Experience

Tanya has a passion for partnering and working collaboratively with clients to produce strategies for their intangible IP assets that integrate with the business’ overall goals and objectives. Her aim is to ensure that her client’s IP strategies provide long-term value and return on investment while also reducing or eliminating expenses that do not add value.

With experience from both in-house and law firm perspectives, Tanya takes the time to understand her client’s businesses. This enables her to be a proactive advisor, quickly prioritizing and focusing efforts upon the most critical issues and clearly communicating solution oriented options.

Tanya’s approach is to advise as a business partner with an expertise in trade mark law and support her clients through trade mark and design clearance, prosecution, oppositions, cancellations, licensing, day-to-day counselling and enforcement including cease and desist letters, anti-counterfeiting and settlements. In addition, she advises on brand related aspects of trade dress, packaging, advertising and social media issues.

In her 10+ years of experience, Tanya has advised businesses of all sizes, from a multi-national corporation to a start-up business. Her practice has provided her with experience of trade mark laws around the world and in particular a significant understanding of protecting brands in the US.

Tanya’s practice crosses a variety of industries including a range of FMCG sectors, Space, fintech, consumer electronics, creatives, engineering, automotive and logistics.
