Experience

Maddie is a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Chemistry team with a particular interest in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and polymers.

Maddie completed her PhD at the University of Oxford, where she investigated triaryloxonium ions as mild aryne precursors and explored their role in the stereogenic control of oxygen. During this work she developed strong expertise in organic synthesis, chromatography, kinetics, and mechanistic analysis, and her research was published in high‑profile journals including Nature.

Prior to this, Maddie graduated from the University of Oxford with a First‑Class MChem degree and was awarded an academic scholarship for her examination performance. Her Master’s project focused on the iridium‑catalysed reductive functionalisation of amides.
