Experience

Jack works with a broad range of clients, from start-ups to multi-national corporates. Through that he has gained extensive experience obtaining patents and registered designs in varied technologies from medical devices and micro-electromechanics to jet engines and control software.

On the one hand, Jack works with private inventors and SMEs advising on suitable IP portfolio strategy and securing protection domestically and further afield in line with their business needs. On the other hand, he also acts for larger clients, specifically in advising on and actively managing their European and UK IP requirements.

Aside from that extensive experience of obtaining such IP rights protection for his clients, Jack also advises on enforcing those rights and on the infringement and validity of patents and designs.

In addition to the technical, engineering aspects of his role, Jack has a keen interest in the aesthetics and ergonomics of good design, and looks to both the function and the form of inventions to ensure that all aspects are sufficiently protected.
