Andrew is an experienced European and Chartered UK Patent Attorney. His career to date has focused largely on drafting and prosecution work for a wide range of clients, including multinational companies, universities and high tech spin out companies.
As well as having extensive experience in drafting, filing and prosecuting UK, European and international (PCT) patent applications, Andrew has considerable experience in prosecuting patent applications for his clients in various countries around the world including in particular the US, China, Japan and Korea. Andrew is also experienced in European patent oppositions, and has appeared before the EPO Board of Appeal.
Andrew is also experienced in performing due diligence for investors, performing IP audits, providing patent filing strategy advice, providing patentability opinions, freedom to operate analysis and providing opinions on patent infringement and validity.
Having completed an undergraduate masters degree in electronic and electrical engineering and a PhD in tunable diode laser spectroscopy, Andrew has a broad technical base in electronics, photonics and physics. Andrew also has significant patent experience in computer software, wireless communications, human machine interfaces, low power microprocessors, mobile device positioning, MEMS, image sensors, image processing, acoustic wave attenuators, hydraulic pumps and motors, valves, medical devices and aerospace technologies. Andrew also has a growing interest in AI and Machine Learning.
