July 2021

Event date: 29th July 2021

HGF in Europe and Shiga in Japan are holding a joint webinar on 29th July 2021.

Fitter, faster, stronger – patenting sports and fitness technology in Europe and Japan

Sporting competition has always been fierce. Increasingly competitors are looking to how technology can assist winning in such competitive environments. Furthermore, technology is increasingly being applied to aid the search for fitness. New training aids are being developed for measuring and recording fitness and activity levels, and also to bring together even remote participants to make training more enjoyable. We will look at patenting trends relating to sports and fitness technology in Europe and Japan to investigate technical areas that have seen particular growth and which applicants are behind this growth. We will also consider in more detail patents for notable technical developments and aim to give participants guidance for building an IP portfolio in the sports and fitness area.

Dr Hiroyuki Hashimoto (Shiga) and Dr Christopher Benson (HGF)

Date

29th July 2021
