Alastair Da Costa Partner
Alastair joined HGF as non-executive board adviser in January 2019. He brings his extensive international board and executive level leadership experience in growing legal and professional services practices to the board of HGF. Alastair is also an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer and he has served as a director for a number of organisations.
Douglas Drysdale Partner
Douglas acts for a broad range of clients within the life sciences and chemical fields. His clients benefit from his candid, pragmatic and commercially-focused advice. Notable clients include major global life science, medical device and chemical companies, and many growing SMEs.
Rachel Fetches Partner
Rachel is an Intellectual Property Litigation Partner at HGF and has worked with clients across a broad range of sectors including, life sciences, chemicals, food and beverage, aviation, media and telecommunications industries. Rachel has extensive experience of litigating before the Patents Court, as well as in patent and trade mark oppositions before the UKIPO, EPO and OHIM. Rachel also regularly advises in relation to pan-European IP strategy for both patent and trade mark proceedings.
Bernhard Ganahl Partner
Bernhard's main focus lies in the drafting and handling of patents in the areas of electric engineering, software inventions as well as devices for biotechnology and optics. Furthermore he possesses great experience in opposition cases and IP litigation cases as well as trademark protection.
Alexander Hagen Partner
Alexander started in IP in the legal department of a multi-national, where after he joined a niche firm, and after a few years joined a renowned IP firm in Amsterdam, working for clients, from start-ups to sports; fashion; technology and design driven businesses, helping them with IP management, design and branding strategies, counterfeit, cross border litigation, conflict advice, structuring, DD, and licensing. Alexander joined HGF January 2017.
Robert Harrison IT Director and Partner
Robert Harrison initially joined HGF in 1995, during the summer break, whilst studying for his degree in Computer Science at Leeds University. As well as being responsible for the day today running of the IT infrastructure, he developed a bespoke case management system for use by the attorneys to help manage an ever increasing caseload.
Harry Hutchinson Senior Partner
Harry’s current practice spans telecommunications, electronics, computer architecture and software-related inventions. In 2000, Harry joined HGF as a Partner in the Sheffield office and is the Head of the firm’s Electronics team.
