Cloned UK registrations to be created from EU registrations

The UK is due to leave the EU trade mark and design system (EUIPO) at 11pm on 31st December 2020. At that time identical UK trade mark and design registrations will be automatically created, cloned from the European Union registrations they are no longer part of.

What we can do for you

We can manage this process in the UK free of charge for you.

We would; –

  • Become your representative at the UK IPO for these new UK registrations;
  • Create new UK records on our management system and set a reminder for their renewal;
  • Forward you a schedule of all these new UK Registrations along with their renewal dates;
  • During the life time of the UK registrations, forward you notices received from the UK IPO. For example, when the UK IPO notify us that your UK registration has been cited in the examination of any new UK application.

Please note that both EU registrations and EU designations of Madrid Protocol registrations will have national UK registrations created from them.

We have created an online platform, HGF Complete, to manage this process free of charge, to have HGF recorded as the UK address for service for these newly created UK registrations and remove any uncertainty you or your clients may have over this process.
