Experience

Tim was articled in London by medium-sized accountancy firm Morley and Scott (now part of Menzies LLP), where he gained a wide variety of experience including bookkeeping, management accounting, audit and tax. He managed the audits of clients in sectors including construction, pharmaceutical, financial services, publishing, engineering and manufacturing.

In 2004, Tim moved to top five firm Grant Thornton and managed audit teams working on his large and varied portfolio of clients including securities and futures brokers, hedge funds, private equity firms, fund managers, insurance brokers, and manufacturing firms as well as undertaking specialist assignments on the audit of Deloitte and other large listed and private companies.

Tim moved back “up North” and into industry as Business Support Manager at financial advisor network Tenet Group, where he was responsible for setting up financial and legal internal audit procedures, management of the external audit process, direct and indirect taxation, treasury management and banking as well as completing special projects for the Board and Audit Committee. He was a member of the Compliance and Risk Management Committee and advised regarding financial systems and controls, micro and macro-economic and non-financial risks.

Tim joined HGF in 2008.
