Experience

Jessica joined HGF's Manchester office in October 2024 as a Trainee Patent Attorney within the Chemistry team.

Jessica has expertise in organic synthesis, biocatalysis and analytical chemistry, having recently completed her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Manchester. Her research involved the discovery and use of novel enzymes to provide more sustainable routes towards modified nucleosides, antibiotics and antifungals. Prior to this, Jessica obtained a first class MChem Master's in Chemistry from Lancaster University, where her final year research project involved the synthesis and analytical testing of a range of theranostic anticancer agents.

Additionally, Jessica has spent time on placements in R&D at a major global pharmaceutical company, a custom chemical manufacturer and an enzyme discovery firm.
