Experience

Alex joined HGF in August 2022 as a Trainee Patent Attorney within the Life Sciences group.

He has a broad technical background in the Biosciences with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and Microbiology, MSc in Medical Microbiology, and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology. During his MSc at the University of Manchester, he carried out research on novel drugs to treat Tuberculosis, and was awarded the WWC Topley Prize for obtaining the highest overall marks in his written examinations.

Following this, he carried out doctoral research at the University of Leeds investigating the mechanical mechanisms of Staphylococcus aureus biofilm formation on the molecular scale.

In 2023, Alex obtained his Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property from Bournemouth University.

Alex has a keen interest in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, and Microbiology.
