In2ScienceUK continues to promote diversity and inclusion in STEM and IP with its award winning programme

March 2023

HGF are proud sponsors of In2ScienceUK, a charity that gives young people from low-income backgrounds the opportunity to gain essential insights into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers with dedicated professional mentors.

Since 2011, the In2Science Programme has aimed to give young people a better future by offering high-quality work placements that enable participants to take part in real research and experiments with professionals.

This programme also teaches participants vital skills such as CV writing, interviewing, and applying by providing high-quality information at workshops and skills days.

Last year, In2ScienceUK provided 766 young people with high-quality, STEM-related work placement opportunities, enabling them to gain experience in the fields they wish to pursue.

The programme has had a significant impact on participants, with 80% of them progressing to higher education, of which 46% enrolled in top-tier universities.

Our partnership has gone from strength to strength, and we are delighted to continue to support young people in this programme.

Luke McKelvey, Development Manager at In2scienceUK commented: “In2scienceUK would like to thank current IP law partners and IP Inclusive for enabling In2scienceUK to expand and develop new programmes in line with young people’s needs.”
