EPO Fees – changes applying from 1 April 2023

February 2023

The EPO has announced (here and here) that for the second year in a row, new EPO Official Fees will apply from 1 April 2023. The new amounts will apply to payments made on or after 1 April 2023. Many fees, including renewals fees, will increase by around 5%. A summary of the new fees is show below. In some cases, applicants may want to consider the timing for paying fees in relation to their applications to maximise any opportunities to pay lower official fees. If you would like advice on this, please contact your usual HGF Attorney.
