Trainee Patent Attorney
Victoria graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2009 with a First Class Masters Degree in Physics, where she received the Deans’ List Award for academic excellence in both her penultimate and final years. Her Masters project involved research into the detectability of extra-solar planets from transit observations.
Victoria went on to obtain a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Edinburgh in 2013. She has a background in scientific computing from her doctoral research, which involved developing new methods of image analysis and model fitting to characterise the properties of galaxies far back in cosmic time and interpreting these results within the current framework of galaxy formation simulations.
Victoria joins HGF from academia where she has been working as a post-doctoral researcher within a European collaboration for the past three years, during which time she was invited to present her research both nationally and internationally.
