IT Director and Partner
Robert Harrison initially joined HGF in 1995, during the summer break, whilst studying for his degree in Computer Science at Leeds University.
After graduating Robert worked as a Systems Analyst for the British American Consultancy Group. During this time he specialised in bespoke solutions for the retail supply sector. His work focused on developing data driven applications and delivering these systems to the likes of ASDA in the UK and Walmart in the USA.
After two years in the retail supply sector Robert returned to HGF in 1997 to take up a permanent position in IT. Over the subsequent years, as well as being responsible for the day today running of the IT infrastructure, he developed a bespoke case management system for use by the attorneys to help manage an ever increasing caseload. This system has continued to evolve to the point where it is now fully integrated with every part of the business including accounts, business development, management and client access.
Robert is an advocate of open source software and much of the infrastructure of the firm is based on the Linux platform. Linux is not the panacea for all IT requirements and where necessary Microsoft technology is deployed to keep a competitive advantage over other firms in the market place. Robert holds Chartered IT Professional status awarded by the British Computer Society. Only the BCS can award CITP status. CITP is seen as the bench mark of IT excellence within the profession. He has also been qualified as a Red Hat Certified Engineer since 2003.
Information Technology at HGF has always been designed with the client in mind, whether the client is internal or external. The flexible and pragmatic approach of the IT team allows the firm to meet the varied needs of our clients.
