Guy practises as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, specialising in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications for a wide range of physics, engineering and electronics inventions, with a particular emphasis in the automotive and optoelectronics sectors. He also has particular experience with optical systems, semiconductor devices, control systems, manual and electro-mechanical devices and wind power systems.
Guy entered the patent profession within the intellectual property department of a multi-national optoelectronics manufacturer, where he managed patent matters for research teams in the UK and overseas, as well as advising on patent portfolio management. In private practice he provides commercially focused advice to meet the needs of companies ranging from global corporations to SMEs, including advising on freedom to operate issues.
Guy joined HGF in 2010, following a physics masters degree from the University of Oxford, research experience in semiconductor device physics, and working with patents both in industry and for another large private practice.
