Experience

Marta's practice focuses on drafting patent applications, as well as overseeing patent application prosecution mainly in Europe, UK and US. She works with a wide variety of clients from all over the world, from universities, research institutes and spin-outs to multinational biotech companies. Marta has particular experience handling portfolios relating to biological therapeutics, personalised medicine, diagnostics and biomarkers.

Prior to joining the profession, Marta obtained a PhD in Biochemistry from University College London. Her doctoral research was aimed at developing new treatments for mitochondrial diseases, as well as finding new genes underlying metabolic disorders and understanding disease mechanisms.
