Trainee Patent Attorney
Nick graduated from The University of Hull with a first-class honours degree in Physics with Nanotechnology. He then moved to Sheffield to pursue an interdisciplinary postgraduate research degree in Molecular Scale Engineering.
After completing a degree in Physics with Nanotechnology Nick moved to the University of Leeds / Sheffield Molecular Scale Engineering course. During this time, he completed several courses in interdisciplinary research and took part in a lab rotation scheme, learning from several leading scientists in world class laboratories.
Nick’s research project involved using atomic force microscopy to determine the mechanical properties of breast cancer cells and contrasting them with healthy cells. This project has led to a deep understanding of materials science, physical biology of cells, metrology, and microscopy.
Nick joined HGF in September 2017 as a Trainee Patent Attorney.
