Carol Watkiss

HR Director and Partner

Carol began her Human Resources (HR) career in training. She managed a national training team as Client Training Manager for a UK systems provider. To satisfy her wish to work more closely with business she moved into an HR role, then qualified as CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) in 1997.

Carol then worked as an HR Manager in financial services and system solutions for eight years. Her skills in HR strategy, leadership development, employee relations, reward structures, organisational development, recruitment, and employment law supported business growth during a phase of mergers and acquisitions. As European HR Manager she extended her UK experience to include Dutch HR practice. In 2004 she attained Chartered Fellowship of CIPD.

Carol joined HGF in 2008 as Head of HR for the HGF group. Her role is to work closely with the partners, reporting to the CEO, to further improve people management strategies and implement pragmatic HR practices which support the firm’s growth plans. Developing HGF to become an employer of choice is a key foundation of HGF’s HR strategy.
