HGF launched the next phase of its European expansion today with the arrival of 3 heavyweight trade mark partners to open the firm’s 2nd Dutch office, in Amsterdam.

Trade mark attorneys, Alexander HagenPieter de Ruijter and Kasper Radstake will open the doors of the firm’s 14th office. The team join Dr Achim Krebs who leads the firm’s office in The Hague, which opened in 2015. The firm has ambitious plans for Europe and believes that its offices in The Netherlands and Basel will be of strategic importance to its trade mark team, led by David Potter.

Alexander commented. “We are very excited to join HGF and to help achieve the ambitious plans of the firm. For us HGF is the perfect match as the firm fully shares our views on both the IP market, and how to service clients. We believe that working with Achim, our experience and expertise on trade marks can further enhance the firm’s European offering”

Paul Sanderson, CEO commented.  “HGF has always understood the strategic importance of The Netherlands for growth in Europe, which was why we opened an office in The Hague, and with Brexit on the horizon it is an important part of our trade mark strategy. We are delighted that Alexander, Pieter and Kasper are joining us in Amsterdam and look forward to continued success and further expansion across mainland Europe”.

About HGF:

The 2017 edition of WTR 1000, identifying the world’s leading trademark professionals was published on the 17th January 2017 and we are delighted that both our new Dutch trademark team and our UK trademark team have been recognised.

‘Dynamic Alexander Hagen devises highly creative trademark strategies and razor-sharp litigation tactics; licensing and financial IP planning are also fortes. “An excellent attorney who takes a big-picture view of cases and who can be totally relied on”, Pieter de Ruijter adroitly manages the weightiest portfolios for global heavy hitters. “An outstanding, hands-on attorney who is always on the ball”, WTR 1000 newcomer Kasper Radstake is a genius at building ironclad portfolios.’ World Trademark Review

“HGF is a top 10 filer of EU trademarks among European firms; it also recently bolstered its pan-continental credentials by opening offices in The Hague and Basel. In other news, it has made impressive additions to its team, having recruited Jonathan Thurgood from Carpmaels & Ransford; a dynamic all-rounder in the brands space, Thurgood can be found in the London office. The capital is also home to new WTR 1000 entrant Geoffrey Smith, who “provides practical, cost-effective advice on a timely basis”. Smith can be counted among the few UK attorneys leading the way when it comes to design rights. The firm has talent up and down the country; working out of the Leeds office is head of trademarks David Potter, a veteran protector of household names in the entertainment field. The legal wing of the organisation, HGF Law, works hand in hand with the trademark attorneys, giving clients an efficient, cost-effective one-stop shopping opportunity.” World Trademark Review
