IP/Copyright in Music Evening

February 2016

London

The Intellectual Property law issues facing those in the music industry are numerous and sometimes it can be difficult for artists trying to stay on the right side of the line.  With these issues in mind, HGF Law and BritishBlackMusic.com / Black Music Congress will be hosting an "IP/Copyright in Music" evening presentation on Thursday 25th February 2016.

With recent high profile legal cases concerning copyright infringement and sampling in the music industry, should writers, artists and labels be concerned? Where does the case of Marvin Gaye’s estate v Robin Thicke/Pharell Williams leave songwriters and artists? What is the current law on sampling? And when is it okay to use music created by other artists?

The Intellectual Property law issues facing those in the music industry are numerous and sometimes it can be difficult for artists trying to stay on the right side of the line.

With these issues in mind, this evening presentation on behalf of solicitors from HGF Law LLP and BritishBlackMusic.com / Black Music Congress will focus on recent case law and legal updates in the music industry and aim to answer frequently asked questions.

We hope to provide a fun and informative presentation and address questions by members of the music industry on these important issues.
