UKIPO Toolkit on Intellectual Property for Universities

March 2015

The UK Intellectual Property Office has released a free of charge toolkit to help university students and academics understand IP and also to help universities and businesses to work together.

The toolkit is composed of four distinct parts:

  1. IP Tutor
  2. StudentshIP Enterprise Awards
  3. Intellectual Asset Management Guide
  4. Lambert Toolkit

The UKIPO has this to say about the toolkit “IP is vital to economic growth in the UK. Students and their lecturers need to develop an understanding of IP and its relevance to them. This will ensure they leave university ready for their future careers. But universities also need to develop IP policies. These will help them to make the most of the intellectual assets created by their staff and students and in collaborative relationships with business. Our toolkit will allow universities to create more IP savvy graduates and get the most from their ideas and creativity.”Just click here to consult the toolkit.
