Chief Executive and Partner
Paul has been the Chief Executive of HGF and HGF Law since 2004. He is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales having specialised in intellectual property law since 1991.
Paul advises clients (in particular US, European, Indian and Asian clients) on the strategic aspects of intellectual property ownership in the UK with a particular focus on complex national and multinational patent and trade mark litigation, and the protection of trade secrets, designs and copyright. He has brought or defended more than 100 emergency injunction applications. He is expert in dispute resolution and mediation. Paul has been recognised as a World 500 Lawyer.
Paul’s trial experience in the UK Patents Court includes e.g. advising Indian companies on revoking the SERETIDE inhaler formulation patent and (separately) the MALARONE anti-malaria formulation patent; advising a US multinational Tier 1 Aerospace supplier in patent infringement proceedings relating to Airbus A320 hydromechanical systems; advising US R&D and UK science teams on complex cross-border trade secrets and fiduciary duty breaches in relation to immune system modulation technologies. His licensing experience includes advising on numerous multi-million pound licensing and supply contracts with global pharma.
