Experience

Nick graduated from the University of Hull in 2013 with a BSc in Physics and Nanotechnology. His final year project involved creating a gait analysis device and analysing data for subjects before and after using an assisted walking device.

Nick then joined the University of Sheffield and gained experience in several world class, multi-disciplinary laboratories. Research topics included developing electrochemical sensors, creating and functionalising gold nanoparticles and photolithography. Nick’s final project involved measuring the mechanical properties of cancer cells using an atomic force microscope. Nick graduated from the University of Sheffield with an MSc in Molecular Scale Engineering.

Nick joined HGF in 2017 and now works for some of the best known and most cutting edge companies in the world, providing application drafting and prosecution for a broad range of sectors, from automotive to construction and cellular to medical devices.

He also works with local businesses and individuals to advise on patent law, prepare competitor watch reports and freedom-to-operate opinions.

Nick likes to put the time in to really get to know a company and the products they make, providing a more in-depth understanding of where protection may be required.
