Trainee Patent Attorney
Marta obtained a first class honours degree in Biomedical Science from Glasgow Caledonian University. Upon finishing her undergraduate degree, Marta received a scholarship to study for a master’s degree in Genetics at UCL. She continued to study at UCL, where she undertook an industry funded PhD in Biochemistry.
Marta's doctoral research was aimed at developing new treatments for mitochondrial diseases. She was also involved in a number of additional projects which mainly focused on finding new genes underlying metabolic disorders and functional work to understand the disease mechanisms.
Marta joined HGF in October 2014. In July 2015, she completed a postgraduate certificate in Intellectual Property and became a part qualified patent attorney. She is now working towards obtaining qualifications as a UK and European Patent Attorney.
