Kimberley Timmins

Trainee Patent Attorney

Kimberley recently graduated from the University of St Andrews with a First Class MPhys(Hons) Physics Degree. She joined HGF Glasgow in July 2016 as a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Electronics group.

Kimberley recently graduated from the University of St Andrews with a First Class MPhys(Hons) Physics Degree. Her Masters project involved working in the Photobiology Department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee where she characterised light meters for use in Daylight Photodynamic Therapy. She later attended the British Medical Laser Association Annual Conference to present her findings.

During her studies she has undertaken various research projects including the design and construction of a single fibre optical trap within the Optical Manipulation Group at the University of St Andrews.

In Summer 2015 she was awarded a scholarship to undertake a 12 week internship at Fermilab, near Chicago, where she worked with the South Pole Telescope team designing, constructing and testing devices to assess the efficiency of detectors.

She joined the Electronics group in HGF Glasgow as a Trainee Patent Attorney in July 2016.
