Hernán has almost twenty years of experience in trade marks, over 12 years in the UK and before in Chile. He has worked with clients from all over the world, particularly from the UK, Latin America, Germany, Italy and South Korea. Clients from different sectors, including food and drink, retail, fashion, automotive, computer games, building industry and financial services.

Hernán is a Chartered (UK) and European Attorney. Hernán is also a Chilean Lawyer and graduated from the Universidad Catolica de Chile in Santiago. He has a masters in IP from the University of Alicante, Spain and has interned in the US and Germany. 

Hernán is a member of CITMA, INTA and ASIPI (Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property). He is currently a member of the ASIPI Trade Mark Committee. Hernán has given talks on UK and EU trade marks in various Latin American countries.

With almost twenty years of experience in trade marks, over 12 years in the UK and before in Chile (where he was a lawyer at Porzio, Rios & Asociados), Hernán has worked with clients from all over the world, particularly from the UK, Latin America, Germany, Italy and South Korea. Clients from different sectors, including food and drink, retail, fashion, automotive, computer games, building industry and financial services. He advises individuals, as well as, start-up companies to large multi-nationals. His work includes trade mark search and availability, management of trade mark portfolios, negotiating agreements, oppositions and cancellations actions before the UKIPO and EUIPO.

Hernan grew up in his home country, Chile, and in the Netherlands. He is a keen linguist, aside from speaking and working in English and Spanish, he is fluent in German. He has conversational French and Portuguese. He enjoys travelling to off the beaten track places, particularly in Eastern Europe. He has also travelled extensively around Latin America.
