Emily Crizzle

Trainee Patent Attorney

Emily has extensive experience spanning a diverse array of technology, with broad exposure to direct client practice, from large enterprises to SMEs in Japan, the US and UK.

Emily joined HGF in November 2018 as a part qualified UK and European patent attorney.

Prior to HGF, Emily worked for two other IP firms, with a focus on electronics and mechanical devices. During this time, she worked on wide-ranging subject matter, from printers and augmented reality devices to biometric sensors. Aside from drafting and prosecuting applications to grant, she advised clients on global IP filing and prosecution strategy, and authored articles reporting on leading case law.

Emily graduated from the University of Liverpool with a first class MPhys(Hons) degree in Astrophysics. During her Master’s research project at University, Emily investigated transient sources using the Liverpool Telescope on La Palma. She also completed a research placement at University of Leicester, where she calibrated the University’s optical telescope and designed a user manual for the undergraduates.

Before entering the profession, Emily carried out research investigating diversity and equality in the NHS. The resulting report was subsequently published by “GovToday”.

Emily is currently in the final stages of qualification as a UK and European patent attorney.
