Dr Lisa Brown
Lisa's practice covers a wide range of biotechnology and medical device inventions, particularly specialising in inventions relating to regenerative medicine, personalised medicine, therapeutics and biomarkers. She has experience in a number of technical fields, including wound healing, cosmetic treatments, cancer therapies, transplant and implan devices, tissue matrices, peptides, dental products, reproductive and fertility treatments.
Lisa provides assistance to clients throughout their stages of development especially University spin-outs and start-ups from early proof of concept days through to flotation. She specialises in patent drafting and prosecution and portfolio management across various jurisdictions, in addition to assessment of other parties' rights, including freedom to operate issues. Lisa has a particular interest in inventorship issues.
Lisa is a member of the British Toxicology Society and is a member of the Medical Technologies External Advisory Board in Regenerative Medicine.
Lisa has a degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in mammalian metabolism and toxicology from the University of Surrey. Before entering the patent profession, Lisa completed several years of post-doctoral research in risk assessment and epidemiology later becoming a Toxicology Manager for a major international pharmaceutical company.
Lisa joined the profession in 1995 and the Leeds office of HGF in 1997.
