Experience

After his pre-diploma in 2008, Jens studied for a year at the University of Sussex in Brighton, UK. Back in Hamburg he wrote his diploma thesis in the field of nano- and structural physics: "Control of the charge carrier density in low-dimensional InAs electron systems". Jens graduated in 2012 at the University of Hamburg.

Afterwards, he obtained a PhD at the Center for Free Electron Laser Science (CFEL) in the international research group “Controlled Molecule Imaging” (CMI) on the DESY Campus of the University of Hamburg. Furthermore, Jens became a member of the Excellence Cluster “The Hamburg Center for Ultrafast Imaging” (CUI). In his work, he focused on the orientation of state selected molecules in mixed strong DC and laser fields.

Thus he has not only a broad understanding of different physical problems, but also a wide overview of software programming.
