Dr Ian Berry
Ian is an experienced UK and European Patent Attorney with a background in physical chemistry, graduating with a Joint Honours degree in physics & chemistry and a Ph.D. in polymerisation chemistry.
Ian worked in-house for a major pharmaceutical company for over 20 years, providing IP support for teams across the whole pharmaceutical industry life-cycle, from early stage discovery through each stage of drug development to product launch and litigation.
Ian has worked on development compounds in Respiratory & Inflammation, Infection, Cardio-vascular & Metabolism and Oncology Therapy Areas and was responsible for managing the IP portfolios for several established products. He has experience of IP due diligence and involvement in a range of contentious third party issues in Europe, Australia, Japan and the USA.
In addition, for 10 years Ian was a tutor for the European Qualifying Examinations in Chemical Drafting & Amendment.
