Dr Helena Grady

Trainee Patent Attorney

Helena joined HGF’s Nottingham office as a Trainee Patent Attorney in August 2018. Helena has an MChem degree in Chemistry with Industrial Training from the University of Bath, and a PhD from the University of Bristol in Functional Nanomaterials. Before joining HGF, Helena worked as a Senior Development Scientist for a biopharma spin-out company.

Helena graduated from the University of Bath in 2011 with an MChem (Hons) in Chemistry with Industrial Training. She completed her industrial training year at AstraZeneca as an Analytical Chemist in R&D.

After her degree, Helena joined the Bristol Centre for Functional Nanomaterials, an interdisciplinary doctoral training centre at the University of Bristol. Her PhD research involved the development and characterisation of novel antimicrobial nanomaterials for functionalising central venous catheters. Following her PhD, Helena worked as a Senior Development Scientist for a biopharma spin-out company from the University of Bristol, specialising in alternative antimicrobial coatings for medical, dental and veterinary applications.

Helena joined HGF’s Nottingham office as a Trainee Patent Attorney in August 2018.
