Dr Dominique Trösch
Dominique has experience with patents in the fields of materials sciences, chemistry (including biochemistry), pharmaceuticals, medical indications, ophthalmic devices, organometallic synthesis, OLEDs and steel treatment, both in prosecution and in contentious procedures (opposition and appeal proceedings in front of the EPO, the GPTO and nullity proceedings in front of German courts).
Dominique is both a German Patent Attorney (Patentanwalt) and a European Patent Attorney. He has been active in the field of industrial property rights since the year 2000 and took part in numerous opposition and nullity proceedings before Opposition Divisions and Boards of Appeal at the European Patent Office, before the Federal Patent Court and the Federal Court of Justice of Germany. He has experience in drafting expert opinions relating to legal validity, infringement of protective rights, as well as freedom to operate, and has also been co-representing clients in infringement / preliminary injunction proceedings before the regional court of Düsseldorf.
Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Dominique graduated as a chemist at Julius Maximilians-University in Würzburg in the field of organometallic chemistry as a member of a special research group financed by the DFG. His studies and doctorate program included study and research stays at the University of Joensuu in Finland (financed by Erasmus) and the Universities of Nottingham and Oxford in the United Kingdom (financed by the DAAD and the British Council).
He is a member of GRUR, FICPI, AIPPI, LES, the Society of German Chemists (GDCh), the federal association of German patent attorneys (BVP), and European Patent Experts’ Exchange (EuPEx) e.V..
