IP Consultant

Charlotte is a strong intellectual property manager with extensive in-house experience in managing portfolios including both soft and industrial intellectual property rights as well as related commercial contracting and legal advice and training for different departments of a business and the board with a focus on connecting IP with the business.

She is a dedicated manager of internal and external stakeholders, connecting people and utilizing knowledge.

Charlotte started her career in IP with a stock listed Dutch multinational company in the technical textile industry. The focus was on industrial property rights and related commercial contracting. She set up their intellectual property department, the underlying strategy and she was responsible for the implementation and embedding it within the organization.

After nearly six years, Charlotte switched to working for one of the leading Dutch fashion labels for premium jeans wear. For the next eight years of her career she focussed on managing their global IP portfolio, including trademarks, designs and copyrights, as well as related commercial contracting.

Charlotte has an MA in Economics with a focus on (Intellectual Property) Law and an MSc in the Product development of clothing.

She has professional experience in all aspects of in-house IP management, including: portfolio management, strategy development, prosecution and litigation strategies, negotiation of rights, social media, advertising, licensing and other related commercial agreements, training, due diligence, etc. Additionally she is trained as a Legal Mediator.

In November 2019 Charlotte joined HGF to develop its consultancy offering,  utilising her knowledge and  in-house expertise to support clients.
