Rachel Fetches Partner
Rachel is an intellectual property litigation partner at HGF and has worked with clients across a broad range of sectors including, life sciences, chemicals, food and beverage, aviation, media and telecommunications industries. Rachel joined the HGF London office in August 2015.
Martyn Fish Partner
Martyn advises clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property law with a focus on intellectual property litigation. He has been involved in numerous High Court actions in the fields of patents, trade marks, copyright, design right and misuse of confidential information.
Alice Gould Partner
Alice has been an IP specialist since qualifying as a solicitor in 1991. She provides a full service to owners of brands, designs, patents and confidential information. She has become well-known for her anti-counterfeiting work and for brand and design enforcement generally, having successfully acted in numerous High Court cases.
Janet Knowles Partner
Janet qualified as a solicitor in 1983 and joined HGF on May 1st 2013 as a Partner. She deals with the full range of IP rights, from patents to trade marks. She specialises particularly in IP transactions in the science and technology fields and their anti-trust issues. Janet is one of a limited number of UK IP licensing professionals recommended by the international guide IAM 1000 - Guide to the World's Patent Practitioners (2012) and IAM 250's 'The World's Leading Patent & Technology Lawyers' 2012/2013.
Jason Lumber Chair and Partner
Jason’s practice includes worldwide trade mark and brand clearance searching and advice, brand protection and registration, anti-counterfeiting advice and support, UK enforcement and litigation support, IP acquisition, disposal, exploitation and licensing, together with brand protection strategy advice.
Paul Sanderson Chief Executive and Partner
Paul has been the Chief Executive of HGF and HGF Law since 2004. He is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales having specialised in intellectual property law since 1991. He advises clients (in particular US, European, Indian and Asian clients) on the strategic aspects of intellectual property ownership in the UK with a particular focus on complex national and multinational patent and trade mark litigation, and the protection of trade secrets, designs and copyright.
Geoffrey Smith Partner
Geoff provides specialist advice regarding the registration, management and protection of intellectual property rights and, in particular, trade marks and designs. He is a highly experienced practitioner before the UK and EU Trade Mark / Design Registries and provides strategic advice regarding international IP protection strategies.
Michael Varvill Partner
Michael is a brand management specialist, providing services to brand owners ranging from trade mark and design registration to the negotiation of commercial agreements. He also has a substantial litigation practice and has had cases reported in all areas of intellectual property law.
Alaric McDermott Consultant
Alaric has extensive experience of drafting and negotiating trade agreements, including technical co-operation, licensing (patents, trade marks and commercial information), distribution, manufacturing, agency, confidentiality, partnership, consultancy, supply and purchasing agreements. He has also administered disputes and mediations in relation to such agreements.
