Dr Claire Irvine Partner
Claire’s practice lies principally in the life sciences field. She has special expertise in all aspects of biotechnology patenting, including gene-related and immunology-related inventions. Her experience includes handling high-profile patent applications in the fields of genetic diagnostics and synthetic biology, which have been the subject of considerable interest and comment beyond patent professionals.
Dr Richard Jenkins Partner
Richard’s practice spans the fields of telecommunications, electronics, computer-implemented inventions, physics, and medical devices. Within these fields, Richard has extensive experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications relating to mobile phone technology, analogue and digital electronic circuits, the structure and manufacture of electronic devices, fibre-optic systems, electrical and electromechanical devices, power generation, and surgical apparatus.
Lucy Johnson Partner
Lucy’s extensive experience covers a broad spectrum of subject matter, from simple engineering, such as joist hangers and packaging, through water treatment systems to welding, automotive and oil and gas technology. With many long standing clients including both global and local companies, Lucy is very well respected for a pragmatic, commercial approach.
Dr Susan Keston Partner
Susan has a combined honours degree in Physics and Astronomy and a doctorate in Computational Particle Physics from the University of Glasgow. Prior to joining the patent profession she worked as an engineer on 3G mobile telecommunications research and development.
Kieran Killough Partner
Kieran’s practice focuses on the fields of physics and mechanical engineering. In particular, Kieran deals with a wide variety of technologies including medical devices, subsea engineering for oil/gas infrastructure, particle accelerators, detectors, spectroscopy and microscopy.
Janet Knowles Partner
Janet is a Solicitor and Registered Technology Transfer Professional and has over 30 years' experience of dealing with transactional IP in relation to all IP rights, but particularly in the science and technology fields. Janet is one of a limited number of UK IP licensing professionals recommended by the international guide IAM 1000 - Guide to the World's Patent Practitioners (2018) and as an IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property.
Stephanie Loeffler-Reading Partner
Stephanie has extensive experience in all areas of trade mark selection, protection and enforcement, particularly the brand naming process and worldwide clearance searches and strategies, due diligence, and strategic portfolio management. She has worked with clients covering a broad range of sectors including automotive, property development, the financial services industry, veterinary and pharmaceuticals, healthcare and media.
